A New York Minute
A quick and dirty recap of everything I did, ate, wore and saw in New York during NYFW
New York is something special in September.
Fall is percolating as the city awakens from it’s summer slumber. It’s often cool enough to pop on a knit in the morning, but warm enough to sit in the sun in simple tee, and there’s a back-to-school energy coursing through the city’s streets. It’s mildly electric and ever so inspiring.
I was lucky enough to spend some time in the city a few weeks ago. The occasion - New York Fashion Week and a great excuse to boost my oxytocin levels with some long overdue girl time. There was lots of walking, a healthy amount of window shopping, an aggressive amount of matcha, and of course, fashion. The people watching was incredible.
I’m no stranger to the city. My first job out of college was in Manhattan. I lived with my Dad in an apartment on Roosevelt Island and took the F train into the Garment District everyday. I could wax poetic about spending a brief part of my 20s in the city, and the beauty savoring the present moment, but given how much ground we have to cover, perhaps another time.
Below, a quick(ish) and dirty recap of everything I did, ate, wore and saw in New York. If you need more recs for an upcoming trip, you can find a few more here! xx
Everything I Wore
I didn’t want to buy anything new for this trip. Not that I believe one has to, but I think buying something new for events or fashion weeks is normalized in the fashion industry. I strictly worked with what I had with me in Paris.
Friday dinner and event (didn’t get a picture!) - bermuda shorts, tank, blazer coat
I’m a big fan of these LouLou Studio trousers - they carry them every season in various colors. On me, they sit just above my hips and are the perfect amount of relaxed through the hip and leg.
